Primary School
School uniform promotes equality, removes gender, race, religious and social barriers and provides a school with a unique identity which is recognised by the community and of which the pupils can be proud.
It is widely recognised that children who wear school uniform are more likely to:
• conform to school rules
• find school a more positive experience
• have a higher average attendance figure
• achieve their potential
As a school we believe that by wearing school uniform it gives the children a sense of belonging, it looks smart and wears well and avoids competition between pupils wanting sports branded clothing.
Our school uniform is gender neutral in that there are not different requirements for boys or girls. For all of these reasons, we would be grateful for your co-operation in dressing your child in our school colours. Our school uniform consists of:
• Navy blue sweatshirt, fleece or cardigan
• White polo shirt
• Grey or dark trousers / Grey skirt (optional)
• In the summer all children can wear dark shorts and a white polo shirt. There is an option of a blue and white check dress.
• Black or dark footwear (trainers or shoes)
We do not ask for or require any of the uniform to have the school badge. Most parents / carers choose to have one or two items with the school badge, purchasing non-branded items for most of the uniform worn.
For PE and Games Our school uniform for PE / Games is: • White t-shirt or top • Navy or white shorts • Suitable footwear for indoor/outdoor use.
For safety reasons pupils are asked to do indoor P.E. lessons in their bare feet.
Any jewellery must be removed for P.E. lessons and long hair tied back.
