Late/Absence Procedures
The Importance of Being in School and On Time
At Penygawsi Primary School, we believe that every minute of learning counts. Being in school and on time helps your child start the day calmly, join in with important routines, and make the most of their education.
School Gates and Start Time
- The school gates open at 8:50am and will be locked promptly at 9:00am to ensure lessons start on time.
- If you arrive after the gates have been locked, please take your child to the main Reception, where a member of our admin team will escort them to their class.
Signing In
- Please make sure you sign your child in on the school iPad and record the reason for lateness.
Appointments
- If your child has an appointment, please call the main office to let us know.
- If your child is returning to school after an appointment, it is important to inform Mrs Cox or Mrs Freeman whether they will be having a school dinner or packed lunch.
- If they are having a school dinner, we can ensure their meal option is ordered before they arrive.
